Instruction Services at Reese Library

Our Purpose

Academic libraries serve a purposively educational function, since they exist within institutions of higher education. Instruction services exist as one of the primary service functions of the Reese Library, with university students being our primary clientele. Library instruction serves to educate students in the discovery, use and evaluation of information sources at their disposal, with an emphasis on those provided by Reese Library at the University. It can be tailored to the content of any course that requires students to do some research outside the classroom.

Library instruction at Augusta State University is both a service and an activity. We offer it to our faculty, to groups of interested ASU students, to University staff, and to area high school faculty and their students.

From this page, students will be able to find groups of resources to help them with their research projects.

Faculty will find some background on the concept of information literacy, as well a link to our class reservation form.

Students enrolled in ILIT 1500 will find their course syllabus, and other course materials, posted here.

Check out the list of folders in the sidebar for further information.
